Maximizing Nuffnang & AdSense or Optimizing Them?

I never really into the affiliate advertising programs, although I have been writing online for so long.

Not saying that I abandoned the idea altogether.

I know there are many bloggers that making money via Adsense around the world. Or in case of Malaysian bloggers,  via Nuffnang, the leading local online advertising company here.

I created a personal server some years ago. The aim was different back then. I was embarking on an Online Portal and Web Hosting project and there the money  supposedly generated from. But it never took off, money speaking.

Then after the server gone, I put most of the existing materials on free blog site such as blogger. With it affilitate advertising made easy, as simple as putting the ads widget into to the blog layout.

But in my case, it is not about the simplicity. It is  about the result that is devastating.

I sure can't earn a living via Adsense or Nuffnang.

Last time I checked my Adsense account, its USD0.51, equivalent to RM1.60

So I checked my Nuffnang, and guess what. The amount is RM0.25!

Don't BURN .ISO files, Just Access It

So you  downloaded a CD / DVD image from the internet. Or you copied a CD / DVD Image somewhere from your friend's external disk.

Then your friend said something about 'burning it' unto a blank CD / DVD. There you read ages ago that in order to burn an image, you need to have a CD / DVD burner or RW Drive.

Yeah thats right.

That a file started with .ISO extension is infact a CD / DVD image. It is an International Standard Organization format for making a working CD/DVD , an  ISO9660 file to be exact. It is a half finished product by the way. Everything IS inside the file, but to access it you first need to transfer the whole image unto a blanks CD / DVD. It is slightly different from a mere copying. If you just copying an ISO file unto a CD / DVD, it will be still an ISO file there, like before you copy it. So burn, not copying it.

And dammit, there your problem is. All you have with is a cheap netbook without a CD / DVD drive. If you wanna burn some files without a proper drive, you definitely gotta find a lighter!

Just kidding. It is actually possible to simply access the file without burning it.

A Microsoft Windows user (WinXP/Vista/7) can still access the file content inside the ISO file like the normal CD / DVD via third party virtual drive software such as PowerISO. This software create a fake 'D or E' CD / DVD ROM drive in 'My Computer' and by following the instruction, you can 'mount and unmount' the ISO file like 'insert or eject' the real CD / DVD.  Grab the PowerIso from this location.

Linux users do not need additional software to read the ISO file. Well, they are geeks remember? A geek just get himself an X terminal. Then he issues a su or sudo command or even to become root,  then to type

mkdir cdrom
mount -o loop myimage.iso ./cdrom

Walah, it works everytime. Then browse the 'cdrom' folder in the home folder. Later, when it no longer needed, back to the terminal and type

umount ./cdrom

Thats the geek way, along with a geeky note. If the errors pops up after you type the above commands, then please google it to find the correct one. Because even a geek doesn't have to remember everything.

Err, a less geeky solution for a linux user, please? Just click the ISO file, you may be able to read it straight away.

Oh, I'm on Google+

Yes, I'm.

Find me there.

And it is definitely faster to find me in Google+ by clicking this LINK .

Among the things that I like about Google+ is the slickness of the display with less text polluting the screen. It is showing less advertisements and also, minus those inane postings every moment.

I'm not going abandon Facebook by promoting Google+ anyway. A giant of social network with net worth of USD104 billions and 800 millions user accounts, as they said. So Mike Zuckerberg can go on with or without me.

And gee, agreed on many trailing zeros that Facebook is currently having, both in dollar and the numbers.

But on the user accounts, I think the numbers deprecated very much if we have a second look at it. There is a strong tendency that Facebook users have more than one accounts. So for example, if on average every user have three accounts, means there are only 267 million Facebook users actually. Not 800 millions.

It is Google + EVERYTHING

Google + with 250 millions strong users and expanding.

Yes, almost everything is Google in the internet.

It is among the most innovative companies on Earth. It portrays itself as a good company, a gentle giant and focus on strategic thinking and good governance.

It expands, expands, and keep on expanding.

When Nokia was a decade long industry leader in mobile phones with Symbian, Windows CE and OVI, Google is the key player that eventually pulling it down. Google breaking in where other failed, by using a new, universal and free operating system, Android. Now Android itself is a market leader with 65% of smart phone market share.

Now Google challenging the king of social-networking, Facebook.

It introduces Google + (pronounced as "Google Plus"). It seems impossible at first. Or ridiculous at the very least. But again, it is Google that we are talking about. It slowly squeezing it ways into Gmail database with non-intimidating but persuasive approach asking Gmail users to 'upgrade' their account.

Google + with 250 millions and expanding. Watch out Facebook, you can't deny it existence now.

The Seeker's Path 5: Getting Lost and Being Confused

Are you lost?

Hey, I mean, lost.

LOST

Lost, maybe. If all you can see and brag about is only that. The past seems to be the only beautiful things you ever had in this life. Anything at present isn't worth mentioning. Let alone the future, it is twinkle-twinkle miles away.

Lost, perhaps. If sleeping is the only thing that may cure the discomfort feeling inside you. Or even inability to sleep due to much of discomfort surge.

Lost, probably. If eating is the only entertainment that breezing your soul. Or you can't eat at all, much to the buzzing emotion from within.

As confusing as it may sounds, but that is much of getting lost  all about.

Even Obama gets lost and confused

You see, a huge chunk of getting lost is actually being confused. And adding into that there are pretty much of duality. Means, two different things from the two extreme ends pointing to the same direction. Such as whether you are eating or not eating still giving the same clue that you are lost, what is more confusing than that.

So the bottom line is, acknowledge that in fact that you are indeed lost. That solves nearly half of the problem. Accepting where you are may reduces confusion. The way back home starts there, most likely.

Go Hybrid: Maxthon vs. Lunascape Browser

It is a war between the three giants in internet browser's world. Between Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. On the other hand, Opera is yet another lightweight browser with good reputation as the fast browser. Although never become a real dominating force into desktop computing environment, it bears a heart of a true fighter. It is there years ago and it is still there now, keep of fighting, still alive and getting even better.

A clear winner is not something that foreseeable easily in the nearest future.

All of them powered by different engine in the background. Chrome is powered by WebKit, Firefox by Gecko, while Explorer is by Trident. 'Engine', as the computing term says. It actually  refers to the core software that browsers are made of. The engine controls the layout, dictates how the browser behaves, and translates html codes into presentable form that the end users can read, see and listen into, etc.

However with Maxthon and Lunascape, browser war isn't only about intense battles, survival and perseverance anymore. The two bring about a different perspective on what browsers are capable of. Instead of fighting, they merge the giant engines into a single browser. Yes, merging them into one.

Both are developed in Asia. Between these two relatively incognito browsers outside their fan base, Maxthon is actually more popular and has a strong following in China. Lunascape on the other hand, is developed and quite popular  in Japan.

"Maxthon 3" combines Trident and Gecko engine in it, and can be switched back and forth as necessary,  2-In-1. Means you have Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox at once, in every click.

LunaScape combines Trident, Gecko and Webkit , 3-in-1. Means, Internet Explorer,Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome at once.

I think both are fast loading. Switching back and forth between different browser engines are seamless. The interface is simple and highly customizable. Skins and extensions (addon) base are available. Some Firefox addons are applicable to Lunaspace. I haven't tried them on Maxthon, please ask Mr. Google to know more about them. But they are definitely worth trying.

Grab the latest version of Maxthon from here, and Lunascape from here.

Google Chrome vs. Chromium

Google Chrome
Google Chrome is a leading browser that currently controlling about 33% of browser market. Firefox is second and Internet Explores, the third.
Safari
Some still swear by the OSX iphone, iTab and iMax that Safari is the best browser, that the whole universe should use it.

Alright. Make it a bit complicated then.

KDE

But as far as Safari and Chrome are concerned, actually it is all started in 1998 when an open source desktop environment project by the name of KDE designed the browser platform engine called 'WebKit' to be used primarily by a browser within KDE, Konqueror. If you are the user of a Unix-like operating system such as Linux, Unix, and BSD variances, you sure familiar with all these names.
Konqueror
The WebKit engine is the source code of Safari until now. What you see as Safari is the graphical  eye candy that creates an expensive feeling along with the needs of paying for nearly everything as long as you are on Apple. It is 100% sure Webkit running in the underlying background.

Then Google joined the foray in 2005. Using the same WebKit engine, it designed a browser called 'Google Chrome' on the top of that. But shortly after, it realized that the WebKit is an open source initiative. Means, for everything that it takes and benefit from WebKit, it should give back to the community. Therefore, Google initiated an open source project by the name of 'Chromium Project', and  still using WebKit.

On the other hand, every version of Google Chrome are actually the stable version of Chromium.
Chromium

But if you use Chromium, you will notice that it uses less less resources and running quite faster than Chrome, Primarily this is because Chromium does not includes Google proprietary and tracking software in it. And if you quite a computer savvy person that always updating your machine, Chromium is definitely the answer, because they release new version known as snapshot on daily basis. There are a new version everyday.

You can get daily Chromium from HERE.

Blogspot Here I Come

This is my first posting to this new site of mine, bearing the same name. Mie4Life. JB4S5N7D9U5Z

Thank you tumblr, for hosting this humble blog of mine. And for you folks, for spending your time reading my sometime ridiculous posts.

Is still my favorite. I don’t mind to have another blogspot accounts so long it captures my writings. Here, kadayanuniverse.blogspot.com the place I would like to continue from where the tumblr postings stop.

I have migrated all the postings here. But the comments on Disqus, it remains there for the time being as I dunno how to migrate it.

Farewell Tumblr.

So Long Tumblr!

This is my last posting to this tumblr blog.

Thank you tumblr, for hosting this humble blog of mine.

Thank you people, for spending your time reading my posts.

After experimenting with for about 4 months, I came to conclusion that tumblr is not for me. It is a posting friendly social blogging site, but is not user friendly. Or the features simply isn’t there to start with. A simple thing for example, no way to align the text without having to peek on the html code. It failed to meet with the minimum criteria to become a simple blog that i need.

Blogspot still IS. I don’t mind to have another blogspot account to suit what I need. So please find me at kadayanuniverse.blogspot.com to continue with where the postings stop.

I have yet to decide whether to migrate all the postings or to simply delete them altogether with this blog.

See you there.

Addicted to "Minyak Kapak"

It is a traditional herb preparation, a medicated oil.

It has no particular name, but bearing the ‘Axe’ trademark or brand and being called as that. It is known as ‘Axe Brand Medicated Oil’ or simply an ‘Axe’ Oil, ‘Minyak Kapak’. You can easily grab it from almost all local convenient store.

I like this oil. Or, maybe addicted to this oil. It smells good to me, and refreshing of sort.

When I glued myself to the screen too much, I rub some to my eyes, so the tear bursts, and I feel my eyes kind of relief.

Please be forewarned though, this silly practice does not come into practice along with advice whatsoever from qualified physician of any kind. I dunno what is the long term effect of doing such practice as I made it up myself.

Am I addicted? No lah, seriously. It takes two long years for me to dries up the 5ml of "minyak kapak". The quantity is too small to be called as addiction.

I got a new bottle now, yippyyy

Nothingness

Nothingness

Alone.

Lonely.

Loneliness amount to nothingness.

Itsa great void.

There is nothing that we find there, much like a vacuum. Only if we manage to push harder, we can find something actually vibrates from far, faraway.

That is exactly happens before the big bang exists. Called it ‘pre-big bang’. But the seed of life is there. ‘Hayy’ is the term in arabic, it means alive.

The original, but without form.

Faceless.

It is true that when there is nothing, actually it is everything.

God bless.

Dharmata

Dharmata

When your mind looks into itself, dharmata will dawn from within - Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche)

The above quote is self-explaining.

Except dharmata.

It means the ultimate nature of dharma, and the dharma is the principle of cosmic order i.e. virtue, righteousness, and duty.

In other words, reflection.

Much Of A Honeydew

Much Of A Honeydew

As much as I love the taste and the look of a honeydew, the yellow type is alien to me.

The taste is okay but the color is not.

But what more can we expect from a honeydew? It is on a class of its own. It can be greenish, and yellow too.

It is still a honeydew by the way. And each to their own, just pick which one that you like.

Life Is Just Like That

Life Is Just Like That

Yeah, much like riding a motorcycle.

Riding alone, there is an ample space to sit on.

But its a bit lonely.

Riding in pair, may be it just nice.

Three-in-one, it sure cramps.

Riding in four, my, it is the hell of loads.

It is hard to steering the bike and, accident may inevitable.

Eventually, again. Alone in a hospital bed.

Bottom line is, ALONE.

The migraine was so severe and last till 3 am this morning. Quite several times it caused my tear to bursts.

Maybe I was holding so much energy. But the sole reason that makes me holding it had gone last night. Therefore I releasing them, releasing them into the oblivion.

The pain gone too. The thing in my head is getting clearer than ever. Gotta do the routine check.

Adrenaline is pumping.

Pulse checked okay.

Everything is set.

I’m ready now.

SpongeBob SarongPant

SpongeBob SarongPant

Made by Danish. He got bored and turning the house into a complete mess.

Playing the whole day.

I can’t spent time with him. The terrible migraine struck on me till this moment.

So he came up with the idea of Sponge Bob, with a sarong and clips. And then he shows off, “Babah, Anet buat Sponge Bob”.

Ya laa Anet, gud work.

It Is All Started From a Tiny Seed

Life is like an arrow shot from a bow. If the target missed, it can be dangerous.

“Urip iku pindha pesate warastra saka gandewa tang pinenthang. Lamun mleset siikii lesane mbilaeni”

Too heavy? Let simplifies it.

Please take a look at where the honeydew life cycle begins.

Here’s the young greenish blooms.

And up shooting itself into becoming a beautiful plant.

If nothing is missed, the fruitful harvest is ready to be served.

Enough the teasing with honeydew, but I bet you can feel the tingling sensation in the mouth, right? Happy fasting to all muslims. It is the thirteenth day, today.

As some of you might be fasting too, this words maybe useful.

Don’t say things when you are mad.

And there’s some things you just don’t say, even if you are angry.
